People with intellectual and developmental disabilities must manage healthcare challenges that range from routine minor illnesses everyone experiences, to chronic diseases that occur with aging, to unique medical situations specific to a disability.
D&S Community Services is committed to partnering with each individual to achieve and maintain the level of health each person chooses. In addition to managing routine minor illnesses, the nurses and support staff with D&S are experienced in providing excellence in care for asthma, diabetes, osteoporosis, seizures, hypertension, and Alzheimers.
Our employees are also skilled in preparing and serving nutritious meals that meet a person’s needs for thickened liquids, pureed or modified diets, or eating with special utensils. Attentive personal care also is provided to help with bathing, dressing, homemaking, and other activities that allow people to live in the community of their choice.
