After serving 4 years in the Army at the rank of Captain, Jim received his Masters in Counseling. He spent 20 years as the Executive/Clinical Director of a treatment agency in Kentucky for emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. During his time in Kentucky his wife and he were also foster parents for several emotionally disturbed adolescents through the Kentucky Department for Children Services. He moved back to his home State of Tennessee to become the District Manager for Senior Services’ East Tennessee operations where he worked for 12 years. There he provided services for children, adolescents, people with intellectual disabilities, and seniors. He came to D&S as their Executive Director in 2007 and was later promoted to Regional Director for Field Operations in 2012. In 2016 he transitioned into his current role to serve as a liaison to the individuals supported and their families. He has been married over 45 years to his HS sweetheart. She gets the credit.
