Psychology Services Department
The D&S Psychology Services Department offers an array of services that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and assists them in having meaningful lives. Unlike providers that outsource psychology services, D&S’ in-house team of psychology professionals work closely with individuals day-to-day to establish support services and track progress over weeks, months, and years.
At D&S, we believe establishing an ongoing collaboration between psychology professionals and individuals is the most effective way to identify opportunities and discover solutions to help them reach their potential.
The benefits of our in-house psychology team include:
Individuals have the opportunity to receive all therapy services in-house enabling our clinicians to work collaboratively with the rest of the team in order to ensure that their treatment plan is well integrated into their daily life.
Rather than a clinic-based practice, our specialists meet the individuals in the environment where they live, work, and play, working side-by-side to better understand the individual’s needs and find specialized solutions to each situation or challenge.
Increased Access and Control
Our team uses person-centered thinking and a positive behavior approach so that our treatment plans focus not only on the challenging behavior, but on increasing the individual’s ability to access, control, and expect the routines and activities that are most important to them.
