In the mood for a feel good story?
At D&S we serve all sorts of wonderful people who amaze and impress us every day! Robbie McTush is a great guy served out of our Kentucky program whose success we’d like to recognize. Robbie works at Morehead State University’s public radio station (WMKY 90.3), MSPR. As an important member of the station’s team, Robbie has several duties. One of his main tasks is to enter each story read on air into a federal database which is used by the FCC for funding purposes. He also researches community events and adds them into the university’s website for all to see! When the DJ’s that Robbie works with are finished using a CD, Robbie collects and refiles them back into the CD library. Throughout the week, Robbie cleans and maintains the sound equipment that is used by all the staff. Robbie also helps out with station events like the Morehead Arts & Eats Festival and welcoming students back on campus. Robbie is not only an outstanding employee but a valued team member at MSPR.
Robbie was hired in 2014 as part of the Customized Employment and Work Initiative through Kentucky’s APSE (Association of People Supporting Employment First) program. The goal of this program is to connect job seekers who have a disability with employers in their community, forging a sustainable and mutually beneficial working relationship. And what an accomplishment they’ve made here! Robbie’s work ethic and positive attitude are infectious at the station. His work is impactful and meaningful to both him and his employer. He’s making lots of friends and money as well! Recently, APSE and the state of Kentucky created a video and chose only three individuals to highlight – and Robbie’s story was chosen! Robbie, his friends, and staff at D&S even had a viewing party when the video was released on YouTube to add to the excitement. Way to go, Robbie!!!
